Etherbulb turns a $15 ESP32-C3 smart bulb into an SDR that paints the room's radio
IgorCarron · x · 2026-10-15
Etherbulb is open-source (GPL-3.0) firmware that repurposes a $15 ESP32-C3 smart bulb's Wi-Fi radio into a receive-only SDR spanning 2.13–2.73GHz. It classifies signals by shape—blue for Bluetooth, green for Wi-Fi, custom colors otherwise—and brightness tracks signal strength. No decoding, no cloud, no app: configuration runs on a web dashboard served by the bulb itself. Supports Athom/IoTorero LB01-12W-E27 bulbs and BTF-Lighting SP530E strip controllers, flashable over Wi-Fi.
