Ito: an open-source Lua library for building terminal UIs, with a browser playground
cat-whisperer · hn · 2026-10-15
Two Neovim enthusiasts released Ito on Show HN: a minimal-core Lua library where every abstraction — provider definitions, theming, everything — is written in Lua, with an optional Rust base for speed. The author also built a custom canvas implementation compiled to wasm, so you can experiment with building TUIs in the browser, and shipped an llms.txt for vibe-coders. Code at github.com/uji-labs/ito; the companion terminal harness at github.com/uji-labs/uji.
