Compiler-backed coding agent Benzi hits 82.4% on SWE-bench Verified at under 3¢ a fix
DonkeyTheKing · reddit · 2026-10-15
Benzi is a compiler-backed coding agent: it first compiles your codebase into a resolved, queryable map of calls, data flow, control flow, and class hierarchy, then reads, explains, runs, edits and verifies code against it; a runtime tracer settles what static analysis can't.
- 82.4% on SWE-bench Verified, under 3 cents per fix on average
- Model- and language-agnostic, compiles locally, works with BYOK
- The compiler is also served as an MCP server, so you can plug it into your favorite coding agent
- Full benchmarks on the site, comparisons with other agents/indexers/code-intelligence systems in the FAQ and GitHub readme; open source with a quick online demo
