ChatGPT Plus users hit repeated false 'Too many requests' warnings despite light usage
-SpaghettiCat- · reddit · 2026-10-15
A ChatGPT Plus subscriber on the Windows 11 desktop app reports repeated "Too many requests" warnings over the past month: access to conversation history is temporarily limited, supposedly to protect data. The odd part is his usage is light — 10 or fewer prompts in the past hour, mostly simple email drafting, no large files or heavy tasks. The warning reappears on nearly every new action; dismissing it lets usage continue normally, but it returns when switching back to the app. He suspects a rate-limiting misfire, an account issue, or a desktop-app bug and asks whether others see the same and have workarounds.
