A prune loop to stop Claude Code rule files from bloating, open-sourced as Morphness

antarsoft · reddit · 2026-10-15

After 153 features built with Claude Code, developer antarsoft found rule files that only grow make the agent follow them less, not more. His fix: treat rules like code that must earn its place — a retro after every feature adds/edits rules based on what actually went wrong; every 10 features, a prune audit checks whether each rule fired or insures against a costly failure; rules that never fire across two prunes move to an on-demand file or get deleted. Setup also separates planner, builder, and QA agents so output isn't checked by its own author. Open-sourced MIT as the Morphness Claude Code plugin.
