Dev Replaces Human-Button GitHub Action With a 4-Tool Claude MCP Toolbox for Sales
StealthBeing · reddit · 2026-10-15
A developer was stuck being the "human button" firing a GitHub Action that syncs the integrations catalog whenever sales asked. Using his own product elaichi.ai (a governed MCP control plane), he had Claude build a 4-tool toolbox: trigger the workflow, list runs, get a run, and read logs. Key safety design: repo, workflow and branch are frozen so the model can't see or modify code; tools are shared "use-only" with sales and run under the author's GitHub login, while elaichi logs who actually requested each run. Sales now just say "sync HubSpot to the site, dry run first". He notes this is fine for catalog syncs but not for prod deploys.
