OpenCode's Gemini integration broken for 5 days over enum serialization bug
Robloxian236678 · ghdev · 2026-10-14
- A user reports that for roughly five days, using any Google Gemini model inside OpenCode fails: the Gemini API rejects requests with validation errors like Invalid value ... enum[0]' (TYPESTRING), 1.
- The errors point to enum fields in multiple function declaration parameter schemas, suggesting OpenCode is serializing tool definitions incorrectly — emitting numeric values where strings are expected — before sending requests to Gemini.
- Reproduction is trivial: configure a valid Gemini API key, pick any Gemini model, send any message. As of the latest version the issue persists with 6 comments, leaving users unable to use Gemini through OpenCode.
