Anthropic publishes official guide for building offline AI agents with a Slack+GitHub briefing template
msharmas · x · 2026-10-15
Anthropic published an official 9-minute guide for building AI agents that work while you're offline, complete with an adaptable template.
What the template does:
- Connects to your Slack channels and GitHub repos to handle morning catch-ups: what changed, which reviews are waiting on you, which decisions are blocking people
- Verifies each item before sending a short brief to Slack
- Remembers what it already reported, so the next run picks up where the last one stopped
- Preferences, schedule, and spending cap are built into the setup
- Runs on Anthropic's infrastructure, so your laptop can stay closed
The underlying methodology is "harness engineering": make long Opus 5.5 tasks leave inspectable results and saved progress so unfinished runs don't burn your budget.
