Dan Faggella: Everything Is an Arms Race Now, and AI Is Driving Man Out of the Loop
danfaggella · x · 2026-10-15
Daniel Faggella argues in a long post that everything is now an arms race: consumers will use AIs to negotiate deals and refunds while retailers deploy AIs to win favorable outcomes; cyber attackers will marshal billions of autonomous AI agents against companies, forcing defenders to hand control to faster-acting agent armies; manufacturers will race to automate production without humans in the loop.
He claims every attractor state drives man out of the loop, with this tension now operating at light speed and beyond biology. Quoting Heraclitus on the attunement of opposite tensions (the bow and the lyre), he notes such tensions have historically conjured major leaps like the cell and multicellularity.
He cautions there are many ways this could go wrong for man and posthuman life — he isn't calling the current speed "good", only saying we need to deal with it.
