Mercury sees exponential MCP growth as users move banking to the AI-friendly bank
brezina · x · 2026-10-14
Mercury co-founder immad reports exponential growth in MCP (Model Context Protocol) usage at the startup bank, contrasting it with JPMorgan blocking agents like Muse and Instinct: "You can't fight the future." Founder brezina says he's moving more and more of his banking to Mercury specifically because its MCP integration is so good.
A split is emerging: incumbent banks wall off AI agents while challenger banks turn agent access into a customer-acquisition selling point.
