Gerard Pons-Moll's group at the University of Tübingen is offering the Virtual Humans course again (Winter 2026/27, 9 ECTS), covering body and clothing models, neural implicits and Gaussian Splattting-based human representations, behavior capture and synthesis, and human skill transfer to robots.

Alongside the lectures, the team started a repo of basic tools for students; the first is an SMPL model viewer that lets you toggle pose-blendshapes, adjust shape and skinning, and rotate joints interactively. Prerequisites: linear algebra, probability, optimization, and Python; PyTorch and graphics knowledge are a plus.
