Codex macOS scheduled tasks return empty responses with desynced queue UI
LoisYUYOU · ghdev · 2026-10-12
A new issue on openai/codex: in the macOS desktop app (ChatGPT Work mode, GPT-6.1 Sol), scheduled tasks injected into existing conversations trigger state desync.
- A scheduled turn shows "completed" after 19 seconds but produces no response text
- A permission dialog for a read-only production status check coexists with a queued-message waiting indicator
- Follow-up instructions remain in the pending row even as the assistant starts responding to them
- The reporter clarifies the real bug is desync between turn completion, permission handling, and queued-message UI, not unsent messages
Based on three user screenshots; no backend logs, not independently reproduced.
