Dev forks Chromium to build Shuttle, an agent-first browser with per-agent identities and built-in MCP

Frustrated by chrome-devtools-mcp's instance sprawl, debugging prompts, tab chaos, and 270 MB per-session overhead, a developer forked Chromium to create Shuttle (BSD-3): each agent gets a named, color-coded identity with its own persistent storage and logins, a loopback-only built-in MCP server exposing 12 browser + 24 page tools (bundling Vercel's agent-browser), no automation banners, per-session CDP endpoints for Playwright, and aggressive debloating. Built mainly with Claude Opus 5.5 plus adversarial review from other models.
