OpenCode blocked from Figma remote MCP server: OAuth registration gets HTTP 403
mkrishnan-codes · ghdev · 2026-10-12
A feature request asks that OpenCode be added to Figma's MCP Catalog so it can use Figma's remote MCP server.
- Tested on OpenCode 2.0.27 (macOS): config via opencode mcp add writes fine, but the OAuth Dynamic Client Registration request to api.figma.com is rejected with HTTP 403 — Figma currently restricts remote server access to catalog-listed clients.
- The workaround is the local desktop server (http://127.0.0.1:3845/mcp), which requires the Figma desktop app and offers a separate tool set.
- The author also suggests clearer error messages when registration is rejected.
