Winamp skins reborn: t3 code themes v2 lets your coding agent write custom CSS themes
NERDDISCO · x · 2026-10-14
NERDDISCO (Tim Pietrusky) shipped "themes v2" for t3 code, reviving the Winamp-skins spirit: switch with /theme <name> or /theme random, and give your agent tools — guide, list, read, write, set — so it can create, edit, and live-apply themes.
The underlying proposal (3 stacked PRs): themes can carry custom CSS (≤16KB) and embedded images (≤1MB, exposed as var(--t3-asset-name)); the theme editor gains a CSS tab with live preview; UI regions get data-t3-part names for CSS targeting. 14 themes already exist, from a retro MP3 player to a pirate map — and one prompt can have your agent restyle the editor live, no reload.
A fun pattern: treating the agent as the theme author, letting natural language drive custom CSS for your editor.
