PeerBrush: open-source image editor lets you and an AI co-edit via MCP
Deftroyy · reddit · 2026-10-14
Developer Deftroyy unveiled PeerBrush, a free GPLv3 open-source image editor built around AI from the ground up. Instead of another Photoshop clone with a chat sidebar, the AI joins the same project via MCP: you can paint on one layer while it edits another, with a shared undo history, then refine its work by hand. You bring your own AI client and pay those costs separately. Current builds are unsigned; Windows is awaiting Microsoft Store certification and macOS signing is in progress. The project is early-stage and the author is soliciting feedback from artists and contributors.
