Indie dev's revenue fell 80% after he stopped tying self-worth to productivity
Zachly · x · 2026-10-14
An indie developer shares before/after numbers: git commits went from 3-4 daily to 3-4 monthly, content output from 50-60 to 5 pieces a month, and profit from $175k to $35k per month. He attributes the 80% drop to healing trauma and no longer defining self-worth by productivity, saying he'd rather be happy than rich.
