ChatGPT ads manager charged a user $100 before a single ad ran
Jazzlike_Damage_3856 · reddit · 2026-10-14
A Reddit user reports that after signing up for ChatGPT's ads manager and adding a card, $100 was charged instantly without running any ads. The billing page calls it an "authorization hold," but the bank says it's a normal charge with no refund issued, and support keeps asking for IDs while promising the money will be released. The complaint also indirectly confirms ChatGPT's ads manager is rolling out to some users.
