Anthropic Post: Claude Rewrote Pipeline With 20x Less Memory and 4x Speed
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-14
Screenshots from an Anthropic blog post show Claude rewriting a hand-written git-to-Scion ingestion pipeline with no extra instructions — 20x less memory, 4x faster, preserving all implicit invariants — and casually finding algorithmic optimizations an expert would need days to weeks for, then doing it again the next day. The post also benchmarks Anthropic's in-house SCM vs git on their monorepo (pull 25x faster, status 207x faster, new worktree in agent environments 84x faster), with 12,257 changes since January. teortaxesTex calls it "a feverish ode to blessings of centralized scale. Unpleasant read."
