Opus 5.5 built a self-hosted GitHub backup tool to Cloudflare in ~30 minutes
threepointone · x · 2026-10-14
After threepointone called for someone to build a personal GitHub backup system, timorf had Opus 5.5 write cf-github-auto-backup in 30 minutes: it backs up repos, branches, PR heads, issues, releases and LFS objects into your own Cloudflare account (Artifacts, Workers Crons, R2).
- First live run backed up 60 repos, with every branch and PR head verified identical to GitHub; you can git clone straight from Cloudflare.
- Motivation: survive a GitHub account suspension with your data intact.
- MIT-licensed and early stage, PRs welcome.
