Anti-doomer take: AI safety comes from building, not from draconian laws
JHochderffer · x · 2026-10-13
Dan Jeffries argues the best outcome is ignoring single voices screaming about extinction or calling for regulatory capture and draconian AI laws. Safety comes from actually building things — planes and cars were made safe by building, finding problems, and fixing them, not by thought experiments on Less Wrong. He also notes Anthropic just made distillation harder, while OpenAI's Roon teases big machine interpretability progress in coming months as a path to alignment.
