Build tooling, not just output: a Claude-driven invite generator with Playwright self-review
opmgyhx · reddit · 2026-10-13
Inspired by Opus 5.5's programmatic content generation, the author built an invite/flyer generator and shares the architecture:
- Used Claude Code to build a small web app with rich-text editing, text-box positioning, and PDF/PNG export
- Graphics are generated as SVGs on an HTML canvas, with Claude kept in a loop 'viewing' output via Playwright and iterating until satisfied; further tweaks happen via prompting
- The editing tooling sidesteps the classic pitfall of prompting image models to render lots of text, and lets humans make precise edits without burning tokens
- SVG output exports losslessly, and formats can be saved as reusable templates
The key lesson: prompt for tooling, not just output, so edits stay predictable and cheap.
