Bitdefender launches free macOS AI Guardian with MCP server verification for Claude Code
Bitdefender_ · reddit · 2026-10-13
Bitdefender announced AI Guardian, a free beta macOS security tool for AI agents, adding MCP server verification for Claude Code (2.1.121+) and OpenClaw (2026.6.6+).
Key MCP features:
- aiguardian onboard enumerates every configured MCP server and verifies each; passing servers default to allow, failing/unresponsive ones default to remove with the original config backed up first
- Every tool call is checked against policy at runtime, with verdicts (allowed/flagged/blocked) written to an encrypted local audit log
- aiguardian mcp status lists servers and their action sets; mcp review re-checks them, e.g. after a server update
The same policy also covers installed skills, credential paths (SSH keys, cloud credentials, tokens), and hidden instructions in prompts and files, with a video walking through two prompt injection examples. No waitlist or license key required.
