Specula has found 500+ bugs in distributed systems; Apache Ozone adopts it

Tianyin Xu shares that Ivan Andika of Apache Ozone and Ratis applied their Specula bug-finding tool to both distributed systems, with the experience organized into a JIRA issue that builds on Marc Brooker et al.'s CACM article and related blog posts.
Specula has so far uncovered 500+ bugs across concurrent and distributed systems — from OS kernels like Asterinas and SONiC, to databases, durable execution engines, and federated learning systems. The tool is free and open source (still evolving rapidly), and the team maintains a public list of found bugs.
