Palantir CEO Alex Karp: 'Greatness is artistic' — on talent and Thiel
eliano · x · 2026-10-13
Palantir CEO Alex Karp reflected in an interview that he doesn't fully understand or control his own artistic talent: "The artistry that pays the bills, I don't have complete access to it." It shows up unpredictably, and he's learned to run with it when it does.
On Peter Thiel agreeing to make him Palantir's CEO, Karp said "greatness is artistic" and called Thiel "an artist in picking talent" — the real answer, he suggests, is that Thiel "recognizes an artist when he sees one."
