Arm: AI data centers need 3 CPU roles, market to grow from $52B to $300B by 2030
firstadopter · x · 2026-10-13
A slide shared by firstadopter (from Arm, sourced to Citi Research/Mercury Partners) breaks down three very different CPU jobs inside one AI data center:
- AI Head Node: feeding the accelerator
- Cloud Native: serving every user
- Agentic: virtual users
The CPU market growth projection: $52B in 2026 → $100B in 2027 → $138B in 2028 → $202B in 2029 → $300B by 2030, nearly a 6x increase in five years.
