The AI race is shifting to agent infrastructure: search, evals and reliability become the moat
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-10-13
The question is shifting from "can an agent do this task?" to "how do you get 1 million agents to do it reliably, cheaply and controllably?"
Tavily is the canonical example: most users have never heard of it, yet countless agent workflows depend on its search and web retrieval layer. As agents become products, the unglamorous infrastructure — routing, search, data, evals, observability, latency, inference cost, GPUs, deployment and reliability — becomes extremely valuable.
