Copilot CLI fails to resume sessions after 5-hour rate limit, breaking long jobs
yurivict · ghdev · 2026-10-12
Issue #5114 in github/copilot-cli reports that after hitting the session usage cap, prompting "continue" even 5-6 hours later fails to resume: the model claims the earlier 429 rate limit still blocks remaining work and refuses to proceed. This makes long-running jobs effectively unusable, as sessions cannot continue past the cap. Labeled area:context-memory and area:models.
