Datalab launches OmniParseBench, a game-resistant OCR benchmark where it doesn't rank first
VikParuchuri · x · 2026-10-13
Datalab (Vik Paruchuri) released OmniParseBench, a new OCR benchmark on which its own models don't rank first. Motivation: olmOCR bench, their go-to for over a year, has saturated, while LlamaIndex's ParseBench measures how well formatting aligns with their preferences rather than actual OCR quality.
OmniParseBench uses consistent yes/no unit tests (olmOCR-style), which are harder to game than edit-distance metrics, and covers hard edges like complex tables, forms and multilingual documents.
