DeepMind researcher Swarat Chaudhuri announced that the AlphaProof Nexus paper, first released as a preprint in May, has now passed peer review and appeared in Science. The work demonstrates the value of AI-aided formal methods and open datasets like Formal Conjectures in research mathematics, and has already helped mathematicians including Gergely Berczi and Mario Krenn in their work. He says these developments strengthen his conviction that formal proof assistants are an essential trust substrate for AI-for-math, and that real progress requires genuine collaboration with mathematical communities.
