OpenCode bug leaves MiniMax M3.1 Flash's five reasoning-effort levels unselectable
Gobutah · ghdev · 2026-10-12
- A reproduced issue against OpenCode (v2.0.27, commit bcf23b6) reports that although the models.dev catalog declares a five-level reasoning-effort ladder (low/medium/high/xhigh/max) for MiniMax-M3.1-Flash-Preview — and MiniMax's own docs confirm five depths — OpenCode resolves zero variants, so pressing ctrl+t (variantcycle) in the TUI does nothing.
- The model.list API returns an empty variants array for the model; the author argues this is an OpenCode resolution gap rather than a catalog error.
- Workaround: hand-write the full variants array in opencode. using outputconfig.effort per level to restore thinking-depth control.
