"You can't stand on the tracks hoping the train is always late": rethinking job security in the AI era
AlchainHust · x · 2026-10-12
The author argues everyone should examine their current and future work under one assumption: AI will inevitably keep getting stronger, so does your role still hold a reason to exist under that premise? The best answer is that your work's value is independent of how strong AI gets. Hoping AI stalls, or that you're merely cheaper than AI, leads to a bleak outlook. As the metaphor goes: you can't keep standing on the tracks and hope the train is forever late.
