Redditor uses ChatGPT to negotiate with Adobe support, waives AUD 394.99 early termination fee

A Reddit user who hadn't touched Creative Cloud for months found there was no cancel button in the UI, so they asked ChatGPT for help — and ChatGPT ended up opening an Adobe support chat and negotiating on their behalf.
The agent's playbook was notably disciplined:
- It opened by stating auto-renewal was off and demanding confirmation of the earliest cancellation date, any fees, and access end date — before any charge was processed
- When quoted an early termination fee of AUD 359.08 (AUD 394.99 incl. tax), it requested a goodwill waiver while also asking support to compare the total remaining cost of letting the subscription run to its March 31, 2027 expiration
- When support couldn't quote remaining payments, it kept pressing for a billing schedule review
Adobe ultimately waived the early termination fee as a one-time exception and completed the cancellation. A neat, replicable example of letting an AI agent haggle with support.
