OpenCode PR adds .agents/opencode/ as unified project config directory
jjjermiah · ghdev · 2026-10-12
A contributor PR (#54594) in the anomalyco/opencode repo proposes letting projects keep OpenCode config under .agents/opencode/ instead of a separate root-level .opencode/.
- Today .agents is only read for skills; this PR makes opencode.(c), agents, commands, skills and plugins all load from .agents/opencode/
- When both exist in the same directory, .opencode still wins, keeping backwards compatibility
- .agents/opencode is only a candidate when .agents already exists, avoiding fs.watch errors on missing dirs; later-created .agents folders are still picked up by the existing watcher
- The author added 5 tests (discovery, watch plan, reload-on-create, TUI theme) and verified live that newly added agents appear without a restart
