Astra in Codex browses for connector specs, models parts and drops them into assemblies
burhop · x · 2026-10-11
User Alpha10six showed Astra inside OpenAI Codex autonomously jumping into Chrome to look up manufacturing dimensions for electrical connectors, modeling the parts, and dropping them into an assembly. Resharing it, burhop noted he'd do the exact same workflow — except he'd get lost in Chrome for 30 minutes and forget what he was doing.
The demo matters because coding agents are now handling composite browser-retrieval-plus-modeling tasks autonomously in real engineering contexts like manufacturing.
