AgenticROS Cloud adds telepresence: turn a ROS 2 robot into your remote eyes, ears and AI agent
chrismatthieu · x · 2026-10-11
chrismatthieu's open-source AgenticROS Cloud project adds a telepresence mode: a ROS 2 robot can now serve as your two-way video conferencing presence in the physical world, letting you attend meetings or visits from anywhere.
The article recalls decade-old telepresence robots like Beam and argues modern hardware (RealSense cameras), open-source software and ROS 2 can bring the experience back. The same robot can also run AI agents such as OpenClaw, navigate autonomously, and carry out real-world missions — combining remote presence with autonomous agent execution.
