PM with Claude Code finds potential exoplanet after 74 adversarial analyses
sujingshen · x · 2026-10-10
A product manager with no astronomy background used Claude Code to analyze public telescope data and spotted a star dimming briefly every 3.18 days — a candidate exoplanet whose follow-up observation has already been approved.
His key technique: repeatedly asking the AI to find evidence that would disprove his own conclusion, running 74 analyses. It remains a candidate pending new data.
The takeaway: AI lets non-experts participate in real research, but outcomes depend on how you prompt and verify. The same applies to product work — have AI critique your spec before praising it.
