VC Molson Hart says AI hacks are why he sold his crypto for good
firstadopter · x · 2026-10-10
In a reposted debate, VC Molson Hart pushes back on the claim that crypto is no more vulnerable to AI-driven attacks than traditional banking. Macro-level, maybe; micro-level, completely different: if your bank gets hacked by AI you get reimbursed, but a drained crypto wallet is gone for good. Banking can iterate through these security problems far more easily than crypto can. That's why he sold — he doesn't want to spend 48 hours frantically rotating cold wallets every time a new AI-driven attack emerges.
