Zapier joins Sierra's open Personal Agent Protocol Poppy to formalize how AI agents act for users
sujingshen · x · 2026-10-10
Sierra has introduced Poppy, an open Personal Agent Protocol defining how personal AI agents work with companies, with Zapier as a design partner. Key points: customers set what agents can do; companies know who is acting on a user's behalf; permissions remain user-controlled. The author notes that agents impersonating users to log into sites will eventually get banned, so a legitimate identity layer matters — and the real question is how far merchants will go, e.g. letting agents handle refunds and order changes.
