Larmor: Open-Source Voice Mode for Claude Code and Any MCP Agent on Mac
Former_Rutabaga_1670 · reddit · 2026-10-10
A developer open-sources Larmor, a local voice mode for coding agents after months of talking to Claude Code out loud. The hard parts: real echo cancellation, distinguishing genuine interruptions from 'mm-hmm', catching mid-work speech, and getting spoken-length answers instead of read-aloud paragraphs.
Larmor works with any MCP-compatible agent (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI), runs entirely on-device on Apple Silicon using Parakeet for STT, Chatterbox for TTS and Apple's echo cancellation. First launch downloads 3.7GB of models; start it in Claude Code with /larmor. Built largely with Claude Code itself; MIT licensed.
