Stanford-led team unveils Swap-seq: prime editing deletion screens to map enhancers, silencers, topological elements

A team led by Xiangmeng Shawn Cai, Jesse Engreitz, Anshul Kundaje, Anders Hansen and Lacramioara Bintu (Stanford/MIT) posted a bioRxiv preprint introducing Swap-seq, a new technology to systematically map enhancers, silencers, and topological elements using prime editing deletion screens — motivated by the question of what ATAC-seq/H3K27ac/CTCF ChIP-seq peaks actually do. DOI: 10.64898/2026.10.08.756856.
