Claude-built Mars tower defense game approved on the iOS App Store after one month
Caninetechnology · reddit · 2026-10-10
A Redditor shipped Ares Outpost, a Mars tower-defense game where Claude (via Cursor) created all the artwork, code and marketing materials — and it got approved on the iOS App Store. Part-time, it took about a month; full-time would have been days.
Lessons:
- Running Claude through Cursor for everything cost over $1,000; switching to a Claude Max subscription with local file access got most of the job done, plus MidJourney for images, Suno for music, Meshy for 3D;
- Connecting the Apple developer connect API let Claude fill out all forms and create preview images;
- When the app was rejected, he just told Claude "figure out why and submit a new build" — approved days later.
His takeaway: the barrier to shipping an app has collapsed to posting-a-YouTube-video levels.
