PiDurableKit: Open-Source Durable Agents for Apple Platforms That Survive iOS Kills
aigclink · x · 2026-10-09
PiDurableKit is an open-source (CC0, 133 stars) durable AI agent framework for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro, running pi-durable on JavaScriptCore with a Swift API.
Core mechanism: conversations, model turns, tool calls, and custom state are committed to SQLite storage before anything is shown. If iOS kills the app mid-turn, reopening picks the work up exactly where it stopped. The repo ships a PiChat example; a few lines of Swift open a SQLite-backed harness, set an Anthropic API key, and run an agent.
Combined with the PiChat app, it enables a phone-resident autonomous agent that triggers Shortcuts on notifications — e.g., auto Do Not Disturb when a meeting starts, restore afterwards.
