Musk: internet access is the top poverty fix; SpaceX to launch ~90% of orbital mass this year
elonmusk · x · 2026-10-09
Elon Musk argued that giving people an internet connection is the single most effective way to lift them out of poverty: once online, people can learn almost anything for free and sell goods and services globally.
He also shared SpaceX's market position: the company is on track to account for roughly 90% of all mass launched to orbit this year, and nearly 80% of all active satellites in orbit are already SpaceX's, providing high-bandwidth connectivity worldwide.
