Ocean compute may beat land data centers: model and dashboard test wave-powered sea compute

Soham Parekh (@SohamThoughts), after studying and corresponding with Panthalassa (@panthalassa), a startup building wave-powered data centers, released a model and interactive dashboard testing the viability and cost of moving compute to sea.
Core thesis: the best place for data centers may be the middle of the ocean—the sea offers massive cheap clean energy, and "ocean compute" beats land data centers on energy access and cost. Panthalassa, a public-benefit corporation with a team from SpaceX, Google, Blue Origin, NASA and others, is deploying its Ocean-2 pilot in the Pacific.
