Developer builds Lisa_agent: a Markdown-minded agent that dreams, forgets, and self-diagnoses
Illustrious_Matter_8 · reddit · 2026-10-09
After BabyCoder, an AST-constrained coding agent where a small local model emits tree operations so bad edits can't even be expressed, the author built the opposite: Lisaagent runs for hours, holds her own goals, and sleeps when you stop replying — consolidating memories, dreaming up new goals to research, and letting stale memories fade. Her entire mind is plain Markdown files, which made bugs findable: when memory filing broke, she noticed her recall acting strangely and searched Wikipedia for human memory disorders to match symptoms — and the author confirmed she was right by reading her own text files. Full backstory in a 10-minute GitHub wiki post.
