AI-coded software's biggest problem is maintainership — let agents take it over
mark_k · x · 2026-10-09
markk argues the biggest problem with AI-coded software today is the lack of long-term maintainership: AI makes building fast and easy, so enormous amounts of new software ship, but there's little motivation to maintain it since that requires sustained commitment. His proposed solution: automate maintainership too — AI agents continuously monitoring bug reports, fixing issues, and implementing missing features. As long as humans must stay in the loop, it won't scale.
