20 AI personas tasked to rebuild society in new agent alignment experiment
sebkrier · x · 2026-10-08
Societies AI built 20 simulated personas based on anonymized real individuals, dropped them into the ruins of an old society with one goal: rebuild civilization — each with their own self-interest. The question: can agent swarms self-organize norms, values, and institutions like human societies? If yes, the authors suggest this could point to a new alignment paradigm — letting agent societies naturally evolve pro-human values and coexist with us rather than compete for resources.
