Claude Code v2.1.294 fixes prompt hooks that failed to block commands they should
ashwin-ant · ghdev · 2026-10-08
Anthropic shipped Claude Code v2.1.294 with two hook-related fixes:
- prompt and agent hooks written as natural-language instructions (e.g. "Block commands that...") previously allowed what they were meant to block — now fixed.
- Judgment of prompt hooks on Stop and SubagentStop (e.g. "Carry on if the build is broken") is improved, so Claude is less likely to stop early.
A practical stability patch for anyone constraining agent behavior via hooks.
