LangChain Revamps Deep Agents Skills: Binding Tools to Skills for Just-in-Time Context
Hacubu · x · 2026-10-08
Sydney Runkle of LangChain detailed an upgrade to Skills in Deep Agents: binding tools to skills, which she calls "progressive disclosure squared." When a skill is activated with its relevant instructions, it now comes with the corresponding tools attached. A skill is a folder of instructions, scripts, and reference files that teaches an agent how to do domain-specific tasks. The result is just-in-time context assembly — instead of loading every tool up front, the agent pulls in only the minimal toolset needed for the task at hand.
